Welcome and Greetings LeyVa Bullldogs!

On behalf of the LeyVa staff, welcome one and all to our award-winning school. We are in for a great and successful school year together. Our most recent accolade is our Title 1 Academic Achievement Award 2006-07.  As an achieving school, we take pride in the efforts of our students and staff. Our success can be attributed to the hard work of all as we apply research-based strategies to our daily practice.

The middle school experience is an exciting and challenging time in the lives of young people in terms of educational and social development. For that reason, we encourage our students to challenge themselves to look to the five A’s of insuring success at LeyVa, high school and beyond.

1. Attendance: We expect stellar attendance from all our students. This is a trait that will help pave the way to success at school, on the job, and in life. It goes without saying that in order to do well in school, one must show up. Additionally, regular attendance fosters a sense of community and pride.
2. Attitude: The attitude of each and every student affects the culture of LeyVa Middle School. Choosing a positive attitude every day helps students favorably impact themselves and those around them. Each individual has the responsibility to make our school environment positive, upbeat and conducive to learning.
3. Athletics: No one wears the purple with pride finer than our student athletes. We are proud to offer a variety of sports for both girls and boys. Neighboring school teams have feared our teams for decades. Nowhere is our athletic dominance best displayed than in our gymnasium.  Tour our gym to see the many championship banners acquired throughout the years.
4. Activities:  There is something for everyone in the area of school activities. This includes clubs, spirit competitions, student government, community service, technology, etc. School is more than six hours a day in class. It is being part of a vibrant community and contributing to the well being and growth of that community
5. Academics: Our recent designation as a California Title 1 Academic Achievement Award-winning school is testimonial to our commitment to academic excellence. This title solidifies the fact that our student achievement scores rank at the top compared to schools similar to ours. It is this accomplishment of which we are most proud.

If students make the five A’s part of their toolkit for success, they will indeed reap the benefits of the total LeyVa Middle School experience for years to come. Attendance, Attitude, Athletics, Activities and Academics are the five A’s to a memorable, life enhancing experience at our school.
